Sheeba Chaddha was born in Delhi in the year 1973 and is a graduate in English from the renowned Hans Raj College in Delhi University. While in college, she developed a liking for acting and theatre and discovered that this field interested her. Pursuing this interest, she went on to become a television, stage and movie actress. Sheeba Chaddha has been known to play characters that are impactful and pivotal in the story of the film. She made her debut in the Bollywood industry with the movie Dil Se in which is a love story set in the backdrop of an insurgent north-east India. She then appeared in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam as Aishwarya Rai’s sister.

She went on to act in various noted films such as Parzania, Delhi-6, in which she played the role of the younger daughter in law of the family and Luck By Chance, in which she portrayed the middle-class sister trying to behave ‘rich’ of Juhi Chawla. She was seen in Talaash as well, as a sex worker. She acted in a short film, ‘Prakata Het Yad’ which was in Gibberish, which also won the Audience Choice Award for Short Film. She very recently appeared in the movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha in the year 2015 as the quirky Buaji. Apart from being a film actress, she has also acted in various Hindi television soaps. Her one of the first appearances was in Love Marriage in the year 2002 and then returned to television in 2007 with the sitcom Kasturi. She has also acted in Na Aana Iss Des Laado, Kitani Mohabbat Hai and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. She also appeared in the very popular TV show movie actress and had acted in various lauded stage plays. She acted alongside Rajat Kapoor in C for Clown and in another noted play

The Blue Mug with Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sen Sharma. She has played the lead role of Desdemona in Othello and of Hedda in an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s play Hedda Gabler. She is also a part of ‘The Company Theatre’, a running theatre group in Mumbai.
