Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu 2” is scripted by “ Suseenthiran” and directed by Selva Sekharan. The film has the star cast of “ Vikranth,” “ Pasupathy,” Kishore Jayaram, Arthana Binu Vijayakumar, Anupama Kumar, “ Soori,” “Appukutty,” Ganja Karuppu, Sonia Bose, Ravi Mariya and Arul Doss. Poongavanam Ananth produced the film. V Selva Ganesh composed the music and E Krishnasamy cranked the camera. Ajay edited the film.

Saravanan, who runs a cassette shop, is in love with a girl and has been spending his time romantically. His father Saamy is a bus driver. When he comes to know about Kabaddi matches, he drives the bus to the spot and starts watching the match. After a couple of warnings, Saamy was dismissed. Initially, Saravanan was angry with his dad. Later, he comes to know that his dad was once a Kabadi player. He quit the sport for Saravanan in a forced circumstance and left his native. So, Saravanan decided to bring back the lost glory to his dad. Did he succeed in it? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Vikranth tried to bring justice to the role. Pasupathi is natural with his performance. Kishore’s part is minimal. The rest of the stars had done what is asked from them.

The story is said to have been penned by Suseenthiran. But, the screenplay and the execution are weak. The emotional bonding between the father and son is okayish, but it hadn’t created any impact, as it was not pictured well. The first half is dull and the romantic scenes seem to be forcedly inserted. Some of the comedy scenes didn’t bring laughs; instead, it irritates. The second half is okayish with the Kabaddi match and Soori’s comedy. The music by Selvaganesh reminds us of some old songs and BGM.

What’s There?

  • Script is okayish
  • Scenes towards the climax are good

What’s Not There?

  • Emotional scenes should have been shot better
  • First half and comedy irritate the audience

Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu created a significant impact and was a career-defining movie for Vishnu Vishal and Soori. But, the sequel didn’t create any impact.
