He is well known for his story telling ability. The subtitle to this television show is called “Sabka Maalik Ek,” which is a popular saying of Sai Baba. Through the story of this television show, Dr. Ramanand Sagar attempted to recreate the life of the universally worshiped saint, Sai Baba. He does it with immense devotion and zeal. What adds to it, is that this marvelous piece of work has been marked with extensive research done on the volumes of true eyewitness accounts of Sai Baba’s life story. Sai Baba’s countless devotees all over the world and India, look up to him as a saint, a guru, a savior, and an incarnation of that allegedly supreme power which comes on this earth in the human figure at the dire hours of the need for mankind’s redemption from mortal sins.
The popular legends endlessly and invariably revolve around various incidents and events, which occurred at the mercy of Sai Baba’s divine power, witnessed by alleged men and women who shared those moments and experiences. According to popular belief, Sai Baba took birth somewhere between 1839 AD and 1842 AD. He was born at Pathni in Mathwada under the Nizam’s dominion. He came to be known as the boy who had left the poor Brahmin’s abode as a child when he appeared under a neem tree for the first time in Shirdi.
The filming of this show took place in Baroda. The sets were diligently made to appear exactly as Shirdi at Sagar Film City. It took almost four years of extensive research, collective enthusiasm, and diligent work contributed by the artisans to bring together the sets of this show to look exactly like Shirdi. The research was very tough to conduct as Sai Baba didn’t leave any form of writing or manuscript behind. His legacy was the contribution to bring about an awakening in the society. The numerous miracles that he performed, the gift of love that he shared with his followers, and the diseases he cured, were all intricate parts of the awakening he offered to bring about in the society. Through this television show, Dr. Ramanand Sagar, the renowned story teller, intended to give away Sai Baba’s spiritual and social wisdom and messages, along with a blend of cinematic entertainment.
