Superstar the ultimate is a reality based television show in Malayalam language which aired on one of the most popular and leading Malayalam entertainment television channel Amrita TV. Superstar the ultimate aired on Amrita TV from end 2011 to mid-2012 and was quite popular among the audiences and garnered much high TRPs. Â This was a music reality show and was directed by director Anuroop. The show- Superstar the ultimate was broadcasted on Amrita TV for four seasons and was aired on every weekdays from Monday through Friday from 7:30 pm onwards in the evening as per the Indian standard time (IST). Â This show was a hunt for the finest singing talent across Kerala, it was a hunt for a complete and ultimate star who is an allrounder and can not only sing melodiously but canalso perform and have that x-factor. Â The contestants were selected after a strict and vigilant auditioning process and were trained and groomed before appearing before the judges.
In between the episodes, the contestants were give voice modulation training and other grooming sessions to overall develop their personality and were also trained to become media savvy and media friendly. The contestants were judged not only in terms of their singing but in terms of their overall performance and interaction with the audiences present in the studio. The show was judged by eminent personalities from Malayalam music and film industries.
