Balamani is the story of the lone fight of a middle class woman Balamani against the fateful circumstances of her life. This is an adaptation of the novel “Peythozhium neram”. The story revolves around the life of a very rich mother and her three sons and their family. Balamani, a very beautiful young girl, is one of the daughters-in laws of the family. The plot also involves a father, who realizes only much later that Balamani is his daughter. In fact, life had taken Balamani exactly where she should be. Married to her father’s sister’s son, Balamani is seen divorced owing to her issues with her husband which is all cooked up by a lady to get access to the wealth involved. However, upon knowing that Balamani is pregnant, she attempts to murder Balamani. Meanwhile, Balamani recognizes her father but is not willing to forgive him. A father separated from the mother and daughter, wishing to reunite with them, a mother longing for the better lives of her sons, a wife bearing her husband’s child in her and yet not being recognized in the family – All these make Balamani a favorite show.
