The title of the serial is named Devaki Nandana, which means the son of Devaki, Shri Krishna.

Lord Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva, in a prison in Mathura. Devaki’s brother, Kamsa, is an autocrat who was told that his death would be at the hands of the son of Devaki. He kills all of Devaki’s sons as soon as they are born, but couldn’t kill Krishna as Vasudeva sneaks out of the prison and reaches the Yamuna River, where he exchanges Krishna for Nanda and Yashoda’s daughter. Vasudev’s children with his first wife, Rohini, were also raised by Yashoda. Krishna was a playful child who always pulled pranks on the women (gopikas) of Vrindavan and stole butter from them. One of Krishna’s friends complains to Yashoda that he ate sand. When Yashoda chastises him and asks him to open his mouth, she sees the entire universe in it. That is when Yashoda realized the divinity of young Krishna. Krishna and Radha were in love from childhood.

In his youth, he serves as a cow herder, as his foster parents belonged to the Yadava clan. On multiple occasions, Krishna saved the people of Vrindavan from both evil and natural calamities. After reaching adulthood, he kills Kamsa and announces Kamsa’s father, Ugrasena, as the King of Mathura. He serves the Kingdom in the crown of a Prince. Krishna was married to eight women, who in the order of marriage are Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Nagnajiti, Bhadra, and Lakshmana. In the Mahabharatha, Krishna made appearances many times as a friend of Arjuna, the third Pandava. He helped the Pandavas win Kurukshetra without actually participating in the war. Krishna’s many leelas or acts of fun have helped many people in their lives. The serial also showed the undeniable friendship between Krishna and Sudama.
