Anshu is a psychedelic thriller film scripted and directed by MC Channakeshava. Nisha Ravikrishnan played the lead role. KC Bala Sarangan composed the music. Suniel Narasimhamurthy cranked the camera. Cheluvaraj, Pramod Chinnaswamy, and Jayachandra Yallappa produced the film.
Plot
Dhruthi is conceived, and she visits the hospital for a check-up. Her husband was told about their unborn child’s heart condition and was suggested an abortion. Soon, Dhruthi hears the voice of her unborn child to save her. Dhruthi started sharing her life story with Anshu. Who is Anshu? The rest of the film speaks about Dhruthi’s health and Anshu.
Star Performance
Nisha Ravikrishnan has done an excellent job. She handled the emotional scenes well.
Analysis
The director should be appreciated for attempting a single-character movie. Unlike the previously released single-character films, which were shot in some remote locations, Anshu is shot in normal locations with people around. The only difference is that all are masked to make the audience focus on the main character. The visuals and settings lack attraction at times. The narration and performance compensated for them. One of the main pluses of this film is its running time.
