The story is about the eternal love between two people who are from different religions. It is based on the real story of a Hindu and a Muslim who get separated during the partition of India and Pakistan. However, even after decades, they have the same affection.

The serial was adapted into a film, Kaaf Kangana. The scriptwriter of the serial, Khalil, was the scriptwriter of the film too. Sami Khan and Fiza Ali reprised the same roles in the movie. The stars' performances received critical acclaim and Kashif Mehmood and Fiza Ali were nominated for the Best TV Actor and Actress at the 12^th Lux Style Awards.
