Udaan or Udaan Sapnon Ki is a drama television series, which started airing on August 18, 2014 and was aired on Colors TV every Monday to Saturday. It was produced by the popular Bollywood director and producer, and was written and directed by Kavita Choudhary. Udaan story was based on the unreleased film of the same name, which features . The initial promo of Udaan was presented on July 10, 2014.

Udaan highlighted the issue on debt bondage or also known as bonded labor in the villages of India. The story started in Azadguni in 1996, where Bhaiyaji won the Lok Sabha election and was welcomed by his wife, Tejaswini Rajvanshi (played by ). Chakor (played by Spandan Chaturvedi) is the daughter of Kasturi Bitiya (played by ) and Bhuvan (played by ). When Bhuvan went to the Haveli to borrow two thousand rupees for the salvation of Kasturi and her husband, together with Hariya, Tejaswini asked him for his unborn child to become a bonded labor. But Hariya dies without receiving any proper treatment.

Later, Kasturi gave birth to Chakor. She was sold even before she was born due to poverty. The wealthy woman from the village, Tejaswini had stamped her when she was born and requested her parents to keep her until she reaches seven. On her seventh birthday, Chakor became the youngest bonded laborer on her village.

Udaan focused on the societal issue of the child labor. Those that are forced to child labor lose the chance to enjoy their childhood and the chance to get a proper education.

This show airs on Colors television from Monday to Friday. This television show has become such a hit that it has been dubbed into Tamil and Sinhalese. In Tamil it is PoovizhiVasalille and in Sinhalese, it is called Dhoni. This television show is giving tough competition to its counterparts. The story is a complicated plot that revolves around the life of a bonded labourer in the village of Azadganj. UdaanSapnon Ki is a story set in the year 1996. The protagonist, Chakor, played by SpandanChaturvedi, is born to a poor family.

When Chakor’s mother is pregnant with her, her father dies in a sudden accident. Her mother is left with nothing to pay for her husband’s funeral and in desperation goes to the village landholder to seek help. The landlord, Kamal Narayan Rajavanshi, has a wife, Tejaswini, who proposes a plan. She says in return for the aid provided by them, Chakor’s mother has to give Chakor as a bonded labourer after she turns 7. She stays with her mother till her seven years of age, and when the time comes, her mother sends her to the landlord’s house to work.

Chakor is an intelligent and charming girl who makes friends wherever she goes. In the proprietor’s house, she comes across Ishwar Rawat who takes her to Lucknow to allow Chakor to get an education. The tyranny of Kamal Narayan, she is dragged back to slavery in Azadganj. A series of twists and turns and arrests and violence takes place, all surrounding Chakor. Chakor, at her tender age, understands that the village is completely dominated by Kamal Narayan. The story goes 10 years into the future, with Chakor, a beautiful teenager now.
