Gangaram Roy is a musician who dreams of becoming a famous singer. He is the son of Nepal Roy, a bandmaster who owns a musical band Surjhankar. Gangaram visits Kolkata to sing at the marriage function of Tayra Chatterjee. She yearns to marry the Bengali superstar Samarkumar, aka Sammy. In a turn of events, she had to marry Gangaram. She accepts his proposal to stay with him for 30 days. Initially, he hates him for his weak financial status and being illiterate. Soon, Renee, daughter of Jhotu Sen, a famous musician, meets Gangaram and becomes his mentor, seeing his musical abilities. Soon, Renee starts falling for Gangaram, which makes Tayra envy her. Soon, Tayra realizes that she loves Gangaram. Though 30 days passed, she stayed with Gangaram. Renee comes to know that Gangaram is married and gets shattered.

Due to some misunderstanding, Gangaram and Tayra get separated, and Tayra gives him 30 days to prove his worth. But Gangaram decides to stay silent till he becomes successful. Gangaram participates in the singing reality show and qualifies in the main round. After a lot of hurdles, he wins the competition, but Tayra is still defaming him. He compares him with Sammy and challenges him. Gangaram accepts the challenge and assures that one day, he will overtake Sammy. He bids goodbye to Tayra and moves to Mumbai to get a chance in Bollywood.

In Mumbai, Gangaram meets a famous actress, Jeena, who had some tiff with Sammy. She helps Gangaram to get a breakthrough in his career. Sammy comes to know about Gangaram’s effort and tries to pull him down, illegally. Meanwhile, Tayra comes to know that Gangaram had become famous with the help of Jeena. She feels that Gangaram loves Jeena and decides to leave him. Will Tayra meet Gangaram again and reunite? The rest of the story deals with this.
