Started airing on June 25, 2017, on Star Vijay Bigg Boss is a famous reality show where celebrities and commoners are invited to live in a house for 105 days and compete against each other to win the big boss's first prize money. There are a lot of twists and turns, like eviction and task completion. There have been six seasons of Big Biss so far. Season 5 of Big Boss was hosted by Kamal Haasan. And also welcomed Ramya Krishnan as a guest host for one week. There were a total of 106 episodes, which aired every Sunday from October 3, 2021, to January 16, 2022, with a total of 20 housemates. Which includes famous personalities from all aspects of life like Thamarai Selvi, Isai Vani, and Chinna Ponnu, who are folk singers; Niroop is an entrepreneur. Ciby and Varun are actors; Akshara Reddy, Pavni, and Nadia Chang are models.

Iykki Berry is a singer and songwriter; Abhinay is an agriculturist; Abishek Raaja is a movie reviewer; Priyanka Deshpande is a TV anchor; Mathumitha is a costume designer; Namitha Marimuthu is a pageant winner; Thamarai is a normal housewife; Raju is a mimicry artist; and it also features Amir, a choreographer, and Sanjeev Venkat, a TV actor, as wild card entries. This show includes a lot of games and tasks, one of which is the Games Power Medal, in which the contestant has to steel five medals, which represent earth, fire, wind, and space. Whoever succeeded in getting all five medals would be safe from future eviction, and in addition to that, he would also get the position of captain. It also consists of a luxury budget task, a captaincy task, etc. There was also a prison where contestants who didn't perform well had to go and live.

The prison consists of a bed and water, and there are no other luxury items for the prisoner.   Raju Jeyamohan took first place with a total of 8 nominations, and Priyanka Deshpande finished second with a total of 11 nominations. Amir, who arrived as a wild card contender on Day 51, also made it to the finale and finished as the third runner-up, along with Niroor, who finished as the fourth runner-up. Pavni was the second-place finisher. Sanjeev, who entered the competition as a wild card contestant on Day 53, was eliminated on Day 91, and other contestants like Thamarai were evicted on Day 98, Ciby on Day 93, Varun Akshara on Day 84, Abhinay on Day 77, Immanon on Day 70, Abishek on Day 21, Iykki on Day 56, Isaivani on Day 49, Mathumitha on Day 42, Suruthi on Day 35, Chinaponnu on Day 28, Nadia on Day 14, Namitha on Day 6.
