Junoon - Pidivaatham was a dubbed TV Serial of Hindi Version of Junoon in early 1990's telecasted in Doordharsan on every Tuesdays at prime time for over 5 years and over 510 episodes which set the record of longest running Show on prime time. It was said to be the trend setter for the TV Industry at that time. The serial was directed by A. Salam. and the lead actors of the serial were Parikshat Shahni, Beena, Benjamin Gilani, Prem Sagar, Kishori Shahne, Mahendra Shera, Smita Jayakar, Sarita Joshi, Ravindra Kapoor, Vishnu Sharma.

The Story was set around love and betrayal. The story was about the Dhanraj's and the Rajvansh's families, their love, betrayal, revenge etc. The Dhanraj family was a traditional one with values deeply rooted from generation to generation. They always stood morally correct and upright in the society. In all turns inside out when one member of the family, Aditya in his very early life fell in love with a middle class innocent girl from Rajvansh family. She later committed suicide as she was carrying Aditya's child. Aditya without knowing that the girl was carrying his child and committed suicide returned home from abroad. The brother of the girl, Sumeer Rajvansh after confronting Aditya vowed to take revenge against Aditya and his family. In the process he killed Seema, Aditya's wife and thus their revenge story started from there.
