Kalki” is scripted and directed by Prashanth Varma. C Kalyan produced the film on a large scale. Dasarathi Shivendra cranked the camera and Goutham Nerusu edited the film. “ Rajasekhar,” Nandita Swetha, Adah Sharma, Pujita Ponnada, Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashutosh Rana, “ Nassar,” Sidhu Jonnalagadda, “ V Jayaprakash” and Scarlett Wilson are in the cast. Shravan Bharadwaj composed the music.

There is a notorious gang in Kollapur and they always fight and create troubles for the people. MLA Narasappa leads the group and the do-gooder is Shekar Babu. During one such fight, Shekar Babu, the do-gooder to the Kollapur people is murdered. But, the cops couldn’t find out the murderer. Kalki, a special officer, is appointed to find out this case. Journalist Devadutta also involves in this case, to help Kalki. Did Kalki find the murderer?

Star Performance

Nandita has got a meaty role to perform. She used the opportunity well and had done justice to the role given. In fact, she is the fulcrum of the story. Adah Sharma’s role is not new, yet she did her part well. Rajasekhar impressed the fans with his performance. Ashutosh always plays naturally and the same in Kalki too.

Although it is a usual story, this time, it had been handled differently. The cast selection is perfect. Nandita and Rahul’s characters are designed well. Adah’s character should have been polished better. Coming to the cinematography, although the angles are clear, nothing newly tried. Editing is okayish. After a particular stage, the film becomes predictable. However, the climax is neat.

What’s There?

  • Screenplay in the first half is good
  • Stars had performed neatly

What’s Not There?

  • Predictable second half

Kalki is a routine murder mystery thriller but comes with some excellent performances amidst predictable scenes. Yet, it is watchable once!
