Mehandi Circus is scripted by Raju Murugan and directed by Raju Saravanan alias Saravana Rajendran. The film has the star cast of Madhampatty Rangaraj, Shweta Tripathi, Vela Ramamoorthy, “ Vigneshkanth,” Kabir Duhan Singh and Ravi Mariya. Sean Roldan composes the music. Selvakumar SK cranked the camera and Philomin Raj edited the film. Studio Green produced the film.

Jeeva runs a music shop in Poomparai, Kodaikanal. Mehandi is a young girl from the North, who works in the circus along with some of her family members. Both of them fell in love and their parents are against their love. But, in a certain stage, Jeeva asks Mehandi’s father to get her married to him. Mehandi’s father challenges Jeeva a knife throwing game to get his daughter married. Jeeva accepts it. Did he take part in the challenge? What happened to his love? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Shweta Tripathi fit in the role well and impresses the audiences with her neat performance. Rangaraj is okayish; yet he has to develop his acting skills. Vigneshkanth is good in his comedy counters. Vela Ramamoorthy, Marimuthu and Sunny Charles did their part well.

The film starts in 2010 and goes back to 1992, where the major part of the film is set. The script and screenplay are neat and the characterization is good. The valid reason why the hero hadn’t updated after 1992 is shown with interesting scenes. The film speaks a lot about the castes and how the people stick to it. Raju Murugan’s dialogues are very sharp and while some dialogues are uttered, we could feel Raju, instead of the stars. The music composition by Sean Roldan is good.

What’s There?

  • The story is not new but narration is good
  • Production values are good and the dialogues are impressive
  • BGM gels well and cinematography is cool

What’s Not There?

  • Predictable scenes is a drawback
  • Rangaraj should develop his skills

Mehandi Circus comes with a good message that is presented through the age-old script with a pretty narration. With the decent romantic scenes that didn’t hurdle the eyes, the film is watchable with the family.
