Plot
Maha goes on a quest to discover her daughter's killer and unravels a string of murders that lead her to a ruthless psycho-killer.
Star performance
Hansika manages to do a decent job of bringing Maha's character to life. Srikanth gives a subpar performance that pales in comparison to the former.
Analysis
Maha is a psycho-thriller that attempts to put a fresh spin on a classic thriller storyline, but fails to successfully do so. The screenplay is averagely written, from a technical perspective and the inclusion of unnecessary twists and turns fails to mesh with the non-linear narrative of the story. The ending is abrupt and leaves you unsatisfied. It is also highly unexpected that a thriller would have the amount of melodramatic elements that this movie does. The cinematography is sub-par at the very best. The only saving grace of the film is Hansika's performance, which is moderately good and the slightly different take on an otherwise overdone storyline.

Maha is a psychological thriller with more drama than actual suspense, which is what you expect from the genre that the film claims it belongs to. The movie is average at very best, and even the decent cast performances cannot make the movie exciting enough to justify watching it till the end. Other than the slightly different take on a commonly used storyline, Maha is not a good pick for fans of psychological thrillers.
