. The synopsis is a local gangster and the newly charged Policeman is against each other. But their appearance and their characters differ. When you people, think that Maari is an excellent movie with the Dhanush stuff; definitely you are going to get disappointed. The trailers and teasers never reveal the original stuff in the film. Only the trailer of Maari is impressive and not the film. Maari is a pigeon racer. He and Bird Ravi are the rivals. Maari has contact with the local don Velu Annan and suppress Ravi. Arjun Kumar is a new Police inspector entering the place. He takes in charge of a very old murder case and making Maari to feel afraid of him.
These kinds of stories are already seen in Tamil cinemas, but this film is polished with a new paint. Balaji Mohan stroked well in his previous movie Vaayai Moodi Peasavum. It was a different movie which earned the lauds of the audiences. Balaji has used Robo Shankar again in this movie Maari. Robo Shankar has fulfilled the requirements of his director. The people who play opposite to the hero such as Vijay Yesudas and Mime Gopi never make him to feel that they are his opponents. The film has Dhanush and Dhanush only. As and now some people show their faces before the camera. The romantic part in this movie is surprising. As usual, the heroine loves the hero, after he helped her in her personal difficulties. But there is a twist, which we had not guessed. Kajal comes as a heroine and plays her role as directed by the director and moves away neatly. Vijay Yesudas made his debut through Maari. He could have chosen some better story that gives importance to him. In short, Maari is not that much impressive!
