. The film opens with the friendship between a cute kid Aditi and an unidentified figure. Aditis’ mother Shakthi is very much worried about her daughter and takes her to the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist says that as there is nobody to play with Aditi, she has created someone in her mind and plays with them. Shakthi and her husband Shiva are living separately. Shakthi is with Aditi and Shiva cares his other daughter Avantika. When Aditi is playing with the unidentified imagery Anne, Shakthi gets more tensed. She tells it to Shiva and Shiva reminds her that Aditi is not their daughter. Whenever her mother Shakthi moves closer with Avantika, Aditi gets angry. She became very possessive at that time. Anne, the ghost makes Avantika to get afraid, to favor Aditi. Shiva and Shakthi started to live together again. When Shiva comes to know the truth, he tells Shakthi about the ghost. But Shakthi did not believe him and get separated from him again. There is a situation, when Shakthi starts to believe the truth said by Shiva. What is her reaction and what steps she takes to safeguard everyone in her family is the rest of the story.
This film Baby has the similarities with the film Pisasu. The ghost is not revealed for a while, similar to Pisasu. There are some scenes that show the quality of the film is low budgeted. But the camera angle and the background score erase all the negatives and make the viewers to sit straight while viewing the film. The director has dealt many incidents in this film like adopting a child, separation of the husband and wife, depression and so on. He has not explained each and every thing, as he believed that the audience are matured enough to understand the situations.
Good attempt by the director Suresh. If the scenes similar to that of Pisasu are shot in a different way, it will be one of the best horror movies. Baby… watchable!
