Vijayaraghavan is an IAS aspirant. His mother wanted him to be in a respectable position. Vijayaraghavan is a do-gooder who helps people in his locality. In a situation, he locks horns with a local councilor and his supporters. If Vijayaraghavan faces opposition from the councilor and lands in trouble, his IAS dream will be shattered, and he couldn’t fulfill his mother’s wish. What will he do to solve this? The rest of the story deals with it.
This is yet another sentimental film for Vijay Antony, who did his part well. Vijay is always good at mother sentiment characters. Super Subbarayan, Prabhakar, and others fit well in the roles.
Although the plot is not new, the situations are a bit different. The story moves briskly, and when it slightly derails, Ananda Krishnan brings in the mother sentiment and makes the audience sit straight. Yet, the narration should have been better. The energy in the first half is missing in the second half. Ananda Krishnan should rectify this in his following films. Vijay Antony is good in the action scenes too. As usual, the heroine didn’t have anything specific to do. Like the other leading action heroes, Vijay Antony is projected for his heroism, and it works. However, some subtle performance is expected. The cinematography is decent. Vijay Antony turned an editor in this film and shifted his music department to Nivas, who had done an excellent job.
What’s Not There?
Although the film comes with a regular plot and mother sentiment, it works out well. However, Vijay Antony should concentrate more on different scripts. Kodiyil Oruvan – watchable!
