CAST & CREW
Vijay Sethupathi would be basking in the glory of success since his earlier two releases Sethupathi, and Naanum Rowdy Thaan set the cash registers ringing. Now let’s see whether his recent release Kadhalum Kadhandhu Pogum, which is a remake of the Korean flick My Desperado, works for him.
"Madonna Sebastian" starts from her hometown to join in the job that she had received in an IT company. But the company goes out of action and Madonna is left jobless. All the same, Madonna is not the one to give up, and she doesn’t return home. She resorts to a small house in a low-class environment, and there she bounces upon Vijay Sethupathi, who claims himself to be a gangster.
Vijay Sethupathi is instrumental in Madonna being employed. Once one person makes inappropriate advances towards Madonna and Vijay Sethupathi attacks him and goes to jail. This obviously sparks romance between the two. They become very close but eventually get separated. What happens later? What is the twist in the film? Watch the whole movie to know more.
Vijay Sethupathi has given an earnest performance as usual and fits the role to the T. His dialogue delivery is one of the USPs of the movie. Madonna Sebastian, who became famous among the youth through her commendable performance as Celine in Premam, is quite ok in her debut Tamil film. " Samuthirakani", who has a meaty role as a sub-inspector with gray shades, has done a convincing job.
Kaadhalum Kadanthu Pogum is the first ever official remake film in Kollywood. The director Nalan Kumaraswamy, who had collaborated with Vijay Sethupathi in Soodhu Kavvum (and this is the director’s second film), has approached the movie in a matured manner. The movie is contemporary and delves on modern issues that are bothering us.
What’s not there?
The movie goes on the predictable lines.
Vijay Sethupathi will manage to impress his audiences with Kadhalum Kadaandhu Pogum.
