Plot
Vetriselvan is an Army captain. He had always considered his team as his family. He and his team are employed to find out the mysteries that happen deep into the woods, where one of their teams that went to investigate had also gone missing. What did the Captain and his team find out in the forest? Were they all spared? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
Arya has done a decent job. Simran has proved once again that she could do any role with perfection. Aishwarya Lekshmi didn't have anything significant to do.
Analysis
Shakti had always picked scripts that were new to the industry. From his debut film, "Nanayam," to "Teddy," all the films are different. His film "Miruthan" is the first zombie movie, and Tik Tik Tik is the first space movie in India. So, Captain created a huge expectation. Captain is good in terms of performance and story. But, something is missing in the film. Though the VFX works are good in some places, they are weak too. The heroine is given a template role. Some characters needed better writing, especially Simran's. Though she plays an ambitious lady, the depth of the character is not written well. Although Simran's performance is good, her characterization doesn't stand firm. The music by Imman is not much impressive as his previous works. The cinematography is quite decent.

Verdict
Though the film has some pluses and minuses, it is a different attempt by Shakti. The alien movie is not worse, but not excellent too. It is a one-time watch!
