Plot
Ramam is a middle-class government employee who dreams of making his son a doctor. But, his son, Raghava, quits his studies in the middle, disappointing his father. Though he is not interested in studies, Ramam hopes that his son will become responsible and lead his own life in a better way. But, Raghava is irresponsible, and in a situation, he forges his father’s signature. After learning about his son’s reckless behaviour, the honest Ramam handed him to the cops, leading Raghava to develop a serious enmity over his father. He decides to kill his father and discusses the murder plans with Deva, his friend, a truck driver. Will Ramam survive? The rest of the film deals with these.
Star Performance
Samuthirakani excels in his role as usual. He always fits well in honest and caring roles, and this film is not a lawbreaker for Samuthirakani. Dhanraj, the comedy star, has appeared in a few serious roles, but this role is new to him. He excelled well as Raghava. Pramodini fits well in the emotional mother role. Harish is good in his role, yet he seems to be a miscast. Sunil did his job well in the limited screen time. The rest of the stars are good in the given characters.
Analysis
The film starts at a slow pace with the characters’ establishment. It is a bit slow in the first half, with some usual father-son clashes. The narrative takes an interesting turn in the second half. Though there are predictable elements related to the father-son relationship and sentiments, the gripping second half comes with enough twists and suspense elements. The emotional depth in the second half is good. The pre-climax sequences are excellently delivered. Though we have seen a lot of movies that showcase clashes between father-son duo, this film shows their relationship from a different perspective. The youngsters and their parents may find some scenes relatable. The visuals are decent. The BGM is good in emotional scenes.
