Plot
Nithya Menen’s role is that of a nurse who aspires to work in Canada. She bounces upon Krish J and love blossoms. As the movie progresses and when everything is apparently fine in their lives Nithya gets raped by Krish’s manager Naresh. This incident puts Nithya in agony and she goes to another city. But there is another tragedy for her there and she is imprisoned. Nithya, who is shattered by the twist of fate, decides to avenge those who did wrong to her. Star Performances
Nithya Menen steals the show with her wonderful performance. The way she expresses her trauma are indeed a proof of her good acting talent. Naresh does his job well even in his brief screen space.
Analysis
Sripriya who had earlier helmed Drishyam, left a mark with that film. Now her long delayed Ghatana shows signs of slow-paced narration. The movie has the message of women elevation but lot of pathos could have been avoided.
What’s there?
• Cinematography and production values of Ghatana are pretty good.
• BGM by Aravind Shankar is quite appealing.
What’s not there?
• The comedy element of Ghatana could have been better.
• The movie’s pace is dragging. It could have been narrated in a straight forward manner.
Verdict
Nithya Menen does full justice to her role.
