Chippy Malayalam Actress

Chippy, who is more popularly known  as Shilpa, is a noted actress turned producer who works in Kannada and Malayalam movies and in Malayalam TV serials and reality shows. Chippy was born on June 1, 1975 to Keralite parents Shaji and Thantham in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Chippy a.k.a Shilpa made her debut in the Malayalam film industry opposite superstar Mammootty in the year 1993 with the Malayalam movie Padheyam. Chippy’s performance was well received both by the critics and the audiences. She then went to feauture in many successful Malayalam and Kannada movies. However, she is best remembered for the portrayal of her role in the record-breaking Kannada film Janumada Jodi for which she also won the Karnataka state film award in the year 1996 which was awarded to her from the Government of Karnataka. Janumada Jodi ran successfully for over 500 days which made shot her to instant stardom and also made the film a cult classic and a memorable movie in the history of Kannada Film Industry. Chippy then went on to appear in many commercials and in a string of hot and successful Kannada and Malayalam movies. Some of her famous movies are-Sopanam, Spadikam, Adhyate Kanmani, Hitler, C.I.D Unnikrishnan B.A;B.Ed, Bhoomi Thaiyya, Chikka, etc. Chippy also starred in the following TV serials-Sthreehridayam, Aakashdooth- currently being aired on Sun TV in which Chippy is seen playing the lead role, Shreekrishnan and many more. Chippy also judged a reality TV show on Asianet named Vodafone Comedy Stars. She got married M. Renjith in the year 2001 and together they have a daughter named Avanthika. Presently Chippy has turned into a producer and she along with her husband produce Malayalam films and TV serials under the name of their production house Avanthika Creations.
