There is no much story in the film and it is a masala drama inspired from western or Bollywood movies, which narrates the lives of gangsters, who chase after a pair of diamonds. Some of the fight sequences are no doubt, they are well shot. All the three actors Prithviraj, Indrajith and Arya do justification to the stunt scenes. Both Prithviraj and Indrajith are brilliant in comical roles and Arya is okay giving support to the characters of the two gangsters. This is Arya’s first debut film in Malayalam.

and Sherin Varghese gets closer to the characters completely in their nerves and to top it they all express in proportions that is even higher than what is needed in their roles. Lijo Jose Pellissery wants to show us the importance of relations of gangsters in a comedy movie, and he has justified it to capture in a manner to revoke these emotions with a total star cast. Double Barrel is far away from the meaningful Malayalam cinema. But this gangster comedy is just an experiment to watch out! Both Prithviraj and Indrajith steal the show as small time crooks in Goa, who mixes up with other gangsters to steal the diamond.
Double Barrel is made at an estimated budged of Rs 16 crore and can be quoted as the one of the costliest movie in Malayalam cinema.
