Te3n is inspired from a Korean movie Montage. With a lot of anticipation the movie has been released today. Let’s delve into the movie to know more.

Amitabh Bachchan, a 70-something old man, is living with his wife who is a paraplegic. His life is shattered when his loving eight-year granddaughter is being kidnapped. Even when Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has taken the case, gives up, Big B is not the one to do so. Eight years pass by, and a similar case happens that brings the case of Bachchan’s granddaughter’s to light again. Now Nawazuddin and Vidya Balan do their jobs o finding the culprit. The procedure that they take bears resemblance to Bachchan’s granddaughter’s case, and this makes the movie even more interesting.

Star Performances

Bachchan is surely in his top form. His acting is highly impressive, and the body language and mannerisms that he exhibits does full justice to his role of his age. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is one of the finest actors of contemporary cinema, gives a nuanced performance with earnestness. As for Vidya Balan, she gives a convincing performance as usual though her role is a cameo. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Padmavati Rao do what is required of them.

Director Ribu Dasgupta is clear in his vision, and he has executed the film well. Kolkata has been showcased well in the movie and the knowledge of Indian society by the filmmaker is obvious.

What’s there?

  • The efforts taken by Bachchan to get the truth is convincing.
  • One could empathize with the central character, Bachchan, for all his agonies and woes.
  • The screenplay of Bijesh Jayrajan and Suresh Nair is not garrulous.
  • The dialogues of Ritesh Shah give the right temperament of the movie.
  • The cinematography of Tushar Kanti Ray is another asset of the movie. It perfectly syncs with the tempo of the film.
  • The movie doesn’t fall into the trap of being melodramatic.

What’s not there?

  • The editing of Te3n could have been better.
  • The movie lacks connectivity at some places.
  • Sometimes you lose track of what is happening in the movie, and the writing could have been better.

The movie is a commendable effort on suspense thriller genre and has topnotch performances.
