Border 4 Movie Review

After Border 2 & 3, there is Border 4 which is also in the buzz. The Border series is always about wars; Wars that no one knew ever existed. J. P. Dutta sure knows how to recreate those memorial wars. The 4th installment is all about Arun Khetarpal Second Lieutenant, who was an army officer.

Arun was born in Pune, which is in Maharashtra, on 14th October 1950. He got Param Vir Chakra ‘Param Vir Chakra’ is a TV serial based on the lif >> Read More... for his bravery. His father was an officer in the army, and his family included people from the military. He attended his school from The Lawrence School at Sanawar. He was always a perfect student both in academics and sports. He later joined The National Defense Academy in 1967. Eventually, he became a student of Indian Military Academy. During 1971, Arun was instructed for 17 Poona Horse.  This was around this time where the war between India and Pakistan happened in 1971, where 17 Poona Horses were in charge for the 47th Infantry Brigade. They were given a project to construct a bridge across Basantar River. Then the Indian troops arrived to make them aware of the enemy war coming soon to this direction.
 

Although the bridge was almost constructed, it needed a little more time. But there were attacks happening everywhere which later led to the death of Khetarpal. He was hit by the enemy tank fire, but rather than ending his tank fire he continued, and one final tank was destroyed by him. His last words on his radio were that he will not abandon the tank as his gun is still able to work and he will get the enemies. And at this moment, his tank got a second hit and this time it was over. The Tank Famagusta, in which he was sitting, was treated by Pakistanis, and later sent back to Indian Army, which is now being displayed. For the bravery and sacrifice, he got awarded with the highest medal, Param Vir Chakra. His ashes were later sent to his family, days after his family got to know about what happened. There were two more officers who were injured, got captured by Pakistanis, and in the end retired from the army as Captains.
