Plot
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had to surrender important forts to Aurangazeb as per the treaty of Purandar. Jijabai, the Rajamata induced the King to get back the Kondhana Fort, which is of significant importance. Until they capture the fort from Aurangazeb, she swore that she will be bare-footed. Subedar Tanhaji Malusare is the trusted aide of Shivaji Maharaj. As Tanhaji’s son’s marriage is to happen, Shivaji Maharaj wants him to bless his son and plans to send some other people with the army to fight for the fort. But, Tanhaji, who comes to know this, pleads Maharaj to give him an opportunity to fight for the nation and capture their Fort. Tanhaji had to fight with the mighty Udhaybhan to get back the Maratha power in the Fort. Watch the film to know the rest!
Star Performance
Ajay Devgan has done a wonderful job and this is his career-best performance. His eyes reveal everything! Kajol has done great work with a limited screen presence. Saif Ali Khan had rendered something great! What a performance! He lived as Udhaybhan and impressed the audiences.
Analysis
Many period films are being made and not all the films impressed the audiences. This film is a great attempt by Ajay Devgan and his team. Ajay had succeeded not only as an actor but as the producer too. The production values are excellent. The cinematography, editing, VFX works and the music are at its best. The screenplay and the execution are fantastic.
