Plot
A 38-year-old Punjabi housewife faces an existential crisis. Sukhee gets hit in the face because her life has become monotonous and mundane, with zero appreciation from people around her once she attends the high school reunion. She starts living for herself after getting a nudge from her father-in-law and seeing her working friends grow.
Star Performance
Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Chaitanya Choudhry are versatile and effortless. Others did full justice to the roles they essayed.
Analysis
The movie opens with mundane day-to-day scenes and picks up once the reunion sequence occurs. Sukhee’s father-in-law wins hearts with relatable one-liners and jokes. The teeny flashback of Sukhee doesn’t sit well due to the VFX, it looks funny. As seen multiple times Sukhee decides to take a break from her life for once both the father and daughter try to step into Sukhee’s shoes and fail miserably showing us what we have seen a thousand times already. The horse race linked to emotional arousal is off-putting. Overall, it fails to garner the empathy that homemakers/mothers need by the movie’s end.

● Women-centric film not revolving around sex.
● Relatable characters.
● Good mixture of humour and emotional drama.
● Healthy and supportive female friendship.
What’s not there?
● The length of the film is a big minus point.
● The movie gets too preachy.
Verdict
If you want to understand the changes your mother had to make post marriage and having kids, the countless sacrifices, and the dreams she gave up, go for it. The movie dives into the world of mothers and their day-to-day activities with heart-warming emotions.
