Plot
At the movie’s start, it is the year 2004 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. An Indian news reporter, Hina Rehman, had come to the party where she met Bangladesh’s Defense Minister, Mirza. Right then he got a call. After that, Brigadier Mirza kills Hina in front of everyone by inserting a wooden spoon into Hina’s neck. In the next scene, we see Krishi Mehra, everyone in Bangladesh knows her by the name KM. She is in post as a diplomat and is currently keeping an eye on the activities of ISIS in Bangladesh. KM brutally kills one of her officers because he leaked information about her from the RO department, due to which her spy Hina Rahma is killed. Now we see a throwback scene from three years ago where Hina meets KM and requests that to work with her. She immediately hires her and together they carry out many missions. Now we come back to the present, and we see that RO officer Jeev goes to KM and tells that a lot of confidential information is being leaked from RO and their main suspect is Ravi Mohan. He is a RO agent because the department doubts him because he is suddenly receiving a lot of money. Is Ravi revealing confidential information? Will the officers be able to catch the real culprit? The rest of the plot revolves around it, with many sharp turns.
Star Performance
The performances given by the cast of Khufiya are sterling. Tabu’s dialogue delivery is effortless, and the transitioning of faces is smooth and polished. The supporting cast also delivers the required performances in their given roles. The film is well-written, with excellent dialogue and scripting by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film scrabbles about the world of squeakers offering a narrative that will clutch you to the storyline. The music and songs are also beautiful, adding to the film's emotional depth.
Analysis
Khufiya is a first-rate electrifying film with a captivating narrative that helps the movie stand out. The unpredictability factor in the storyline and plot binds our imagination to the plot. The only negative point is the climax, which is kind of bland and too easy to end, considering the considerable plot this movie builds around it before the climax. Even though the film contains several scenes that overlap with reality, there are still genuine emotional moments amidst the scary passages that let the audience empathize with the characters. Also, the unpredictability of the accidents in the film elevates the experience of watching, leaving the viewers eager.
