Plot
The movie is mainly based on four female bikers who are tracking Thar Dangal on a bike. The oldest one of them is Mahi, second is Lali, who is devoted to God and believes asking her mother before doing any work. The third girl is Sky, whose private photos have gone viral and she is running from her past. And the fourth girl is Uzma, who was the owner of Hind Motor Company but her husband is handling it. In flashback, we see the oldest biker Mahi, who got a bullet in the lottery and is completely unhappy. She wanted a mixer grinder so he told his grandson to sell it. She faces a lot of trouble in commuting so one day she decides to learn to ride the bullet in which her grandson helps her. Sky and her boyfriend Kunal run a joint YouTube channel on moto blogging and that day they were arguing for the partnership. One day Kunal’s phone gets hacked and all the private pictures of her get leaked. Because of this, she blames Kunal and every single comment on her YouTube was based on it. Uzma is a typical Muslim housewife, her husband’s expectations of her are very high. She is the official heir of Hind Motors but his father has given his work to her husband, she does all the household work but her name is never mentioned. She loves bikes a lot and wants to get out of there. Manjari belongs to a religious family; she does not have her father, and her mother is everything to her. Her mother fix her marriage, and she is not even allowed to talk to her husband before marriage. Right now, she is stuck in the situation. The rest of the movie revolves around how they met and their adventure.
Star Performance
The veteran actor Ratna Pathak Shah is a redoubtable star with her facade, grace, and charm. Dia Mirza is also a graceful actor, skillfully depicting her emotions with her beautiful eyes and lovely, warm smile. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi beautifully depict the internal conflict and struggle of every youngster and capture the viewers’ hearts with their acting skills. The movie scenes are in Himachal Pradesh, which makes the movie even more realistic and relatable for the riders.Â
Analysis
The Dhak Dhak movie is based on a Women's bike trip to Khardungla from New Delhi. It is a story of adventure, with emotional backstories of each of the lead cast members, a journey of self-discovery, and a way to prove to the world that women are no less capable than men in any way. This movie not only talks about breaking stereotypes, travel, friendship, etc but also portrays the story through realistic characters. The story gets a bit slaggy in the middle but all the leading ladies got good screen time for their backstories. Also, the film may seem a bit slow in the first half but as it progresses, there are a few heartfelt moments between the women which will strike an emotional chord with the viewers. Women might relate to it better than men, perhaps. Altogether, it is an inspiring movie by ladies that shows they can do great things and not be limited.
