The problems faced by the Indian agricultural sector and the farmers, set the backdrop for the film to take place.

Plot

Two engineers, Ajay, and Sameer, try to make it big in the world to achieve their individual goals. Ajay works towards starting his start-up company, while Sameer wants to be in a decent position to impress his girlfriend's family. Both have their own set of hurdles to overcome, but fall short of their dreams. The two of them decide to commit suicide, and so runs off to the village of Salamatpur, Madhya Pradesh. There, they are confronted by the true difficulties of life. A village full of farmers suffering hardships the heroes could never imagine. The rest of the film sees how the two heroes manage to rescue the villagers from their hardship, and the changes they have to face in their life.

Star Performance

Both Divyendhu Sharma, and Anant Vidhaat, as Ajay and Sameer, play the roles beautifully. The contrast in their characters balances the flow of the movie, bringing out the needed chemistry between the two lead roles. Inaamhulaq, as Pappan Khan gives out a magnificent performance as always, bringing the screen to life in all his scenes. Anupriya Goenka, and Brijendra kala provided the right amount of support to the main characters through their remarkable performance.

Analysis

A strong attempt by Faizer Haider, trying to point out the problems and hardships in the field of agriculture in our country. The first half of the film revolves around the life of Ajay and Sameer and the issues they face. A joyful first half sets the tone for the story to take place. Filled with timely comedy and dialogue, the first is enjoyable and goes at a good pace. Coming to the second half, the movie runs into the cliche style of storytelling, involving singing and dancing and the heroes that can save them from any situation. Sometimes the storytelling feels too rushed and half-baked to wrap things up quickly. The direction is decent, but the screenplay needs a lot of improvement.

What’s There?

  • Witty dialogues and funny scenes
  • Remarkable performance by all the actors
  • An excellent moral and message

What’s Not There?

  • A good throughout screenplay is not present
  • Novelty on the discussed topic is absent
  • Realistic approach towards the problem is not there

Verdict

In the first half of the movie, the director draws an ironic parallelism between the challenges faced by Ajay, and Sameer, and the farmers. The film starts off in a light hearted tone, with properly timed comedies and scenes. Divyendhu Sharma and Anant Vidhaat handle the flow of the film in the first half with their screen presence and charm. The second half of the movie brings out the real story, and it is something the audience are quite acquainted with. The addition of song sequences and heroic acts by the heroes, leads the film to a usual note. Though, the issue taken up by the director is a decent one, the script lacks novelty on how it is dealt with. The movie ends up being a commercial Bollywood film, immersing the audience with its charming heroes, witty scenes, and flow of the story. It is a one time watch where you can leave behind the logic and enjoy the movie.
