Plot
Four people who hail from a small town in Punjab wish to go to London for various reasons. When those four, including Manu, Buggu, Bali, and Sukhi, come to know that English is a must to cross borders, they decide to join a coaching class. They meet a soldier, Hardy, who promises to help them move to London, but not legally. He plans the Dunki method, an illegal way of crossing the borders. But, what’s the need to follow an illegal way, and why did a soldier do that? What issues did they face while traveling abroad? These questions are answered in the rest of the film.
Star Performance
Shah Rukh’s performance is outstanding, especially in the second half. Taapsee is an outstanding performer, and she proves it once again. Anil and Vikram did their best with their comedy timing and body language.
Analysis
Rajkumar Hirani is a perfect executor, and he has done his best once again. Taapsee’s character is finely penned and she has got a perfect lead role opposite SRK. The dialogue and comedy portions are fantastically made. The first half moves quite fast without making the audience bored. Though the comedy portions are hilarious, the emotional scenes are not handled well when compared with the rest of the film. That doesn’t mean that the emotional scenes are weak, but they would have been made better, as Rajkumar Hirani had been strong in that part in his previous films. The backstory of SRK could have been told a bit better. The songs and BGM are pretty good and the visuals are impressive. The CG works are okayish.

If you are an SRK fan or want to watch a good performance-oriented movie with humorous scenes, then this is a good choice.
