Baabarr, unlike usual films, voyages into the insides of the dark and sinister crime-infested world of Uttar Pradesh delving into it through the story of a young fellow known as Baabarr Qureshi.
Plot: Baabarr ( Sohum Shah Sohum Shah is a Bollywood actor and a producer. From a 12-year old boy who commits a murder in cold blood and is devoid of any guilt, this film sees the rise of Baabarr into a dreaded gangster who decides to walk in the footsteps of his brothers. His terror spreads across the state like a forest wildfire sparing no one; be it the average man in the street or the government. When his crimes know no bounds, the government seeks the help of encounter specialist S.P. Dwivedi (Mithun Chakraborty) to eradicate the brutal terror from the roots. There is also the dishonest and corrupt cop A.N Chaturvedi ( Om Puri Om Rajesh Puri is one of the widely noted senior a >> Read More... ) who obviously supports the wrongdoings of Baabarr for his benefit.
Analysis
Films like these are always woven around revenge and vengeance, which usually forms the foundation of the film. Thus, there is no new aspect to Baabarr and it follows the same monotonous path; the corrupt cops, the insensitive politicians craving for power, the gunshots and obviously the chase between the cops and Baabarr. So the film is no exception to this genre. The only difference would be the gory violent scenes that involved bloodshed. It might just make you want to throw up. Some of the fight sequences get extremely repetitive and might just put you off to sleep. However, I would like to appreciate how the director has endeavored to throw in a few twists to keep the audience from leaving the theatre.
Star performances:
1. Sohum Shah is the newcomer who essays the role of Baabarr. He doesn’t seem that convincing and his face is wooden. However, he does deliver an average performance.

4. Sushant Singh Sushant Singh is an Indian film actor and a host o >> Read More... as Baabarrs’ rival is impressive and portrays his character notably looking more convincing than Baabarr himself as a gangster.
What’s there?

Verdict:
If you are ready for another film on the same lines as Parinda by Vidhu Vinod Chopra Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a classic filmmaker, who has >> Read More... or Satya and Company by Ram Gopal Verma, then don’t give this film a miss. It’s made for you but just packaged with a lot more violent action scenes.
