Plot
Aliya Basu (Raima Sen) , the heir to a rich businessman, is kidnapped by two goons. But what starts as a simple case for money soon turns into a wicked romp of deception and greed.
Star Performance
Vinay Pathak and Raima Sen are the standouts in this film. Both portray their roles convincingly. Vinay Pathak who is quite known for his comic roles gives a fantastic performance as an unpredictable psychopath. Raima Sen also puts up a great performance as a tormented woman. Salim Diwan does an adequate job as his character has layers but with only a few expressions he doesn't go beyond that and somewhere it works for the film, making him innocent and dangerous at the same time.
Analysis
Preeti Singh, the director has done a great job in constantly putting us on the edge of our seats, with unpredictable twists one after the other. Kudos to the writer and director for showcasing a simple straightforward story unpredictably. The film revolves around the main characters but a bit of a backstory of each character would’ve helped the film have emotional depth. There are some unnecessary sequences of bloodshed and melodrama. The actors have done their job well. Preeti Singh peels each layer of the onion one at a time and does it to the end, making this film a one-time watch thriller.
This film doesn't offer anything new. But it does know how to play the cards right.
