Plot: The film will showcase the life of Jesus. It depicts the time when he was away from home and unknown of the fact that God sent him. At the age of seven, when he returned home, he realized from a series of events that he was not an ordinary child. He gets to know that he was sent by God to destroy evil on the Earth and save humanity. The film depicts his early life and the life when he realized the truth and got to know the motive of his life. It progresses on the same pitch to show various life incidents of Jesus.
Analysis:Â The movie was appreciated by the audience but not much to the expectations of the makers. It has usually received unfavorable reviews at the leading news websites. The film is based on history and it had the additional pressure of showing facts at most of the time and it had passed the test with ease. The makers must be appreciated for a thus reason. The direction is average and needed more improvement to keep the film on track.
The story of the movie is based on a novel and hence it was obvious that the screenplay might be a bit slow in the motion picture. The film is fast in the first 20 minutes but loses its pace after that. The climax is predictable, and it does not have much to offer to the audience.
Star performances: Adam Greaves-Neal is in the lead role in the film and is playing the character of Jesus. He has fit into the character, and his appearance is very appealing. Cyrus Nowrasteh needed to work more in the field of direction. However, he has successfully narrated the entire movie in a unique way. Geoffrey Rowland is another gem in the film. His editing is just well enough to get on the other side of the court. Joel Ransom has done a handy job as a cinematographer and has captured some extraordinary visuals.
What's there? The movie is a historical drama, and the people who are into history will love to watch the film. It has some great visuals which will capture you mind. Also, the performances are good and make the film more interesting.
What's not there? It lacks the touch of entertainment required to make the film more interesting for the audience. The music is not up to the mark. The direction is also average and has nothing much to offer.
Verdict: The film has some major flaws. However, it entertains too. It can be watched if you want to take a risk.
