compliment their respective roles as Gil and Inez. This is a story of a successful Hollywood screenplay writer, Gil, who struggles to write his first novel.
PLOT
Gil is a successful Hollywood screenplay writer and engaged to Inez, who more of a materialistic person. They accompany Inez’s father to his business trip to Paris and so spend their vacations there. Gil is a romantic at heart and has very less in common with his healthy fiancee Inez and her parents. Gil falls in love with the city Paris and wishes to stay there with Inez after they get married so that he can write his novel full time as Paris gives him much of inspiration. One evening Inez ditches Gil for an evening out with Paulo, one of her friends. And then, what fortune had it for Gil, Gil meets a few party-goers travelling in a 1920’s vintage vehicle and so get invited to a party with them. Soon after reaching the party, Gil realises that he has travelled back to the 1920’s Paris. And since that evening, Gil travels back to the same location every midnight and where he meets Adriana, his ‘beauty-queen’. What happens to Gil and Inez’s marriage? And what about the novel Gil has been striving so hard for? Will Gil forget Adriana and move on?

’s 41st film and there’re no second thoughts about how great he is at his work. This movie simply connects with you. “Midnight in Paris” is for - everybody. I can consider it as one of the best romantic-comedy of all times. “Midnight in Paris” won Oscar at the Academy Awards, 2012 which it was worthy of.
STAR PERFORMANCES
Owen Wilson seems to be the perfect choice for this movie and role. Owen is a natural actor and seems to play his role with such ease and effortlessly. He has a perfect comedy timing, and many of the funniest lines in the movie are his improvisations.
WHAT’S THERE?
• The visuals deserve an applaud.
• Historical locations of Paris have been justified with the great cinematography.
• Owen Wilson’s lovers cannot afford to miss this treasured movie
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
• Not much depth has been put into the character of Inez.
• Certain scenes and quotes in the movie are quite predictable.
VERDICT
As per my opinion, this movie is a must-watch for Owen’s fans. It’s also another masterpiece by Woody Allen. There is nothing to dislike about this movie, either you simply connect to it, or you don’t. -by Ananya Narang
