Plot
A British girl, Anna Gardener (Felicity Jones), comes to Los Angeles through a foreign exchange program. She falls head over heels in love with an American classmate Jacob Helm (Anton Yelchin). He feels the same for her. Anna extends her time in the US to spend with Jacob, but she is unaware of the outcome of defying her Visa rules. So when she goes to London to attend a family function and tries to return to  America, she is stopped by the authorities who let her know about the ban. Knowing this, Jacob comes to London once, but he has to return to his furniture design business. What happened to their love? Did her fight against the ban was successful? takes us on a rollercoaster ride of love. He makes up weep; he makes us laugh, finally making us falling in love with love. This movie is all about why we stick to love, how hard it may be. Why one can’t let go of that one true love? Although a bit unrealistic at parts, it surely will connect to our hearts, haunting us long after we leave the theatre. His strength lies in giving the opportunity to the actors to improvise the dialogues. That has proved a masterstroke as the lead roles provide us with some of the best love lines. The music beautifully merges with the storyline. The cinematographer captures the mood of the film remarkably.Â
Star Performances
Felicity is the star. She marvellously portrays Anna. Her face is the canvas where the feelings of love and loss are so amazingly radiated. Anna loves Jacob more than he loves her. The sense of desperation is more clearly seen in her. Anton Yelchin is impressive. But the story shows him more focused on career than love. Jacob even seems more involved with Samantha (

She is so stunning an actress that Sam’s relationship with Jacob becomes very much believable. Alex Kingston and Oliver Muirhead are genuine and sweet as Jackie and Bernard (Anna’s parents).
