Plot
The plot is pretty much a newer adaptation of the original theme. Camilla Cabello as Ella is willing to establish a clothing shop named Dresses by Ella. One fine day, prince Robert finds Ella in the market and falls for her. Robert learns about her shop ambition and buys a dress from her for a much higher price, and also invites her to a ball party where she may find more buyers. On the day of the ball, Ellla's stepmother refrains her from going to the party and cunningly makes her daughters join the party. But, Ella's fairy godparent saves her and Ella attends the ball in a beautiful gown and glass shoes. Robert proposes to Ella, seeking the advantage of the ball party, but gets denied by Ella as she thinks that her dressmaking dreams would get crushed if she becomes a royal bride. Ella runs away bitterly, leaving her glass shoe behind. The glass slipper is used by the prince to find her after he tells Prince Rowan and Queen Beatrice that he wants to get married to a commoner. Robert and Ella meet in the forest where they confess their feelings for each other. As Robert decides to go around the world with Ella, Gwen, his sister, is given the throne as she is worthy of it. The movie ends with Robert and Ella smiling with a celebration backdrop.

Analysis
The movie is a unique and modern adaptation of the ancient fairy tale. The film has broken a lot of fairy-tale stereotypes by making Ella bold and dream oriented. The movie has a lot of new characters added along with the original characters. The movie amazingly captures deep ideas of gender fluidity and women empowerment. The background scores and musical backdrop is also fascinating. But the film also has a lot of extra elements which if not added would have made the film better. The film spans out great ideas in a disappointing manner. The movie is made complicated to make it fit in today's generation. The movie has its fun elements too that make the movie worth watching. The story line feels too modernized and morally correct that it doesn't justify the original theme. The musical pieces are amusing and are the best part.
