After confirmation, he believes that she is kidnapped and tries to trace her location. But, he couldn’t get her location. What happened to Emily? Was Joe able to save her? Who was Emily? The rest of the story deals with this.
Jake Gyllenhaal did his best as Joe Baylor. The rest of the stars have performed as directed.
Director Antoine Fuqua has remade the Danish film of the same name. It is quite confusing, why the film is remade. Although the film has some interesting sequences in the first half, the second half makes the audience think that it is being dragged. The film concentrates only on Jake and sometimes, the audience feels that if there are any stars involved in this film, other than Jake. Although his performance was good, concentrating only on the hero hadn’t gone well with the audience. There are a lot of loopholes in the narration. Started as an investigative thriller, the film travels as an emotional thriller.
What’s Not There?
Although the film is less than two hours, the narration makes the audience feel that it runs for a long time. However, the thrilling elements are well-made and the performances of the stars are also good. For thriller film fans, this is a decent watch!
