Besides playing in the films, he has directed a few films and his upcoming directorial venture Maniar Kudumbam is getting ready for the release. At present, he has been taking part in the second schedule of “Viswasam.” Thambi Ramaiah's pictures from Viswasam sets, posted by the fans had gone viral over the internet. It is heard that Thambi Ramaiah plays Ajith’s maternal uncle. In two of the images, Thambi Ramaiah appears young in one and old in the other. So, it is expected that Ajith will also be playing a single role and the young Ajith might come in the flashback portions. “Nayanthara” pairs him. “Siva” directs the film and Sathya Jyothi Films bankroll the project. The film will be a Pongal 2019 release.
