MGR Sivaji Academy Award function was held recently in Chennai and the “Ivan Vera Madhiri” hero was honored with the “MGR Award.”

The actor felt euphoric on receiving the award and said, “M G Ramachandran" and my grandpa were close friends in those days though they were rivals by their profession. After quitting the movies and becoming the CM, MGR used to watch movies. He called my dad many times and appreciated his performance. Our family had good terms with MGR.”
