Following this, the Congress MLA Lakshmi Narayanan filed a case in the Supreme Court against the appointment of MLAs by the Governor. Now, the Supreme Court released its verdict that the appointment of MLAs by the Governor is valid. The Apex court also stated that the Puducherry government need not intervene in the appointment of the MLAs.
