Kiran Bedi, the Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry, writes a letter to
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, to set up the Cauvery Management Board to solve the water problems faced by the farmers and the public. In her letter, Kiran Bedi stated that Karaikal in Pondicherry is located in the tail end of Cauvery basin. As the Cauvery water is not yet released in the right quantity, the agriculture in the area is completely affected and the farmers’ livelihood is in critical condition. She had also insisted the Prime Minister constitute the Cauvery Management Board and Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee. Kiran Bedi also said that as the central government didn’t form the CMB, it has created the anxiety and unrest among the farming community. She also requested the PM to direct the concerned Ministry to set up the CMB soon. She had also attached the letter copies to the Union Minister of Water Resources, Home Affairs Minister and the CM Of Pondicherry.
