Despite the mixed reviews, the movie has went on to collect 16 crores within the opening weekend. ‘Garudan’ is a modern narration of one of our folktales. The movie stars Soori, Unni Mukundan Born on the 22nd of September, 1987, Unni Mukundan >> Read More... , and M Sasikumar in the lead roles. RS Durai Senthilkumar has written as well directed the movie. The movie was released on 31 May 2024.

With that, ‘Garudan’ is only the fourth film after ‘Captain Miller’, ‘ Ayalaan Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ and ‘Aranmanai 4’ to have turned out as a commercial success. Except for these movies, most of the Tamil movies have failed to earn even a respectable figure of 10 crores, forget recovering the original costs. Things turned out to be so bad that most of the distributors had to rely on either dubbed releases of movies like ‘Manjummel Boys’ or re releases like ‘Ghilli’ to keep the theatres running.

Meanwhile after the surprise success of ‘Viduthalai’, Soori is focusing on multiple projects as a lead actor, including ‘Viduthalai Part 2’ and ‘The Adamant Girl’.
