” was arrested yesterday by the CBI. As he didn’t cooperate with them and repeatedly telling the same, the CBI had decided to get him under court’s custody, says the reports. Chidambaram was taken to the Special court and Kapil Sibal argues for him. The INX Media case had been opened and the argument started. Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Karti Chidambaram are also in the court along with Kapil Sibal. The CBI demands a five-day court’s custody to inquire to the former Minister. Kapil Sibal states that Karti Chidambaram had been granted the bail and even Baskaran, who is also involved in this case had been availed with anticipatory bail.
Kapil Sibal states that why didn’t the CBI arrest the secretaries of the six departments, who gave their consent to the foreign investment. He also states that the CBI had shot Chidambaram with invalid questions which are irrelevant in this case. There is no need for Court’s custody and Chidambaram would appear before the CBI, when they call him for inquiry, says Kapil. Abhishek Manu Singhvi states that as Chidambaram escapes from their questions, the CBI has filed a case and this is unacceptable.
