” was arrested and taken under the CBI Custody in INX Media Case. As Indrani Mukerjee, who was involved in the scam turned an approver, as per her confession, Chidambaram was said to be arrested. He had applied for anticipatory bail, which was rejected and following this the CBI arrested him. Yesterday, he was taken to the Delhi Court and the CBI received permission to inquire him under their custody until 26th August 2019.
Chidambaram’s side appealed to the Supreme Court and now, the SC ordered a stay to arrest P Chidambaram until 26th August 2019. Although the SC sanctions the interim bail for ED case, he will stay arrested under CBI. The ED case will come to the hearing on Monday.
