” had been arrested by the CBI and had been in their custody for more than ten days. Although he had not been sent to the prison, he is inquired by the CBI. The CBI said that as he didn’t cooperate, they have requested the court to extend his custody. The custody had been furthermore extended to 5th September. Meanwhile, Chidambaram had been permitted to meet his family inside the court premises.
On Thursday, the court will pronounce the verdict on Chidambaram’s plea for protection from arrest. The agency had appealed that Chidambaram should not be availed any protection. Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram had been accused in the INX Media case that also involves Indrani Mukerjea and Peter. Indrani has been in the jail in the murder case of her daughter, Sheena Bora and now she has turned an approver.
