Kamal’s Request To Filmfare!

Kamal Haasan, the Universal Hero, is among the talented performers from the South. He has won four National Awards and nineteen Filmfare Awards. Kamal’s movies stand the highest number of submissions for the Academy Awards in Best Foreign Language Film category from India. He won the prestigious Kalaimamani in 1979. The actor received the honorary Padma Shri in 1990 and Padma Bhushan in 2014. After winning the award for Hey Ram in 2000, Kamal requested the Filmfare organization not to include him in the nominations. The officials of Filmfare shocked initially. Then they came to know that he wanted to encourage the young talents in Tamil cinema industry and hence he don't consider the awards as an important thing. In 2015, Shruti Haasan, the elder daughter of Kamal received a Filmfare Award for Race Gurram, a Telugu film. At present, Kamal and his daughter Shruti are working in a trilingual film, “Sabaash Naidu.” Stay tuned for more updates on Kamal!
