GV Prakash Becomes An IPRS Member!

IPRS, the Indian Performing Right Society has chosen “G V Prakash Kumar” as one of its members. It is to be noted that Javed Akhtar, the popular screenplay writer cum lyricist gets the new honor as the Chairman of IPRS. The Permanent Advisor of IPRS is Achille Forler, the Copyright expert. Besides GV Prakash Kumar, the musician cum actor, the popular musicians and singers including Rajinder Panesar, Sahithi Cherukupal, Aashish Rego and Anupam Roy are also selected as the IPRS members. IPRS issues license to the music users and collect the royalties from them and distribute it to the members, who are the composers, authors and the publishers of the music. An administrative cost is charged from the members for collecting the royalty.
