Mammootty’s Long Delayed Films Finally Get An OTT Release

Time and tide wait for none, and superstar Mammootty is learning it the hard way.

Only a year ago, the Malayalam superstar had given Mollywood some of its most creative films, which were also commercially successful. However, cut to 2025 and he is struggling to get OTT releases for his movies released in the first half of 2025.

According to the recent reports, Zee5 has apparently acquired the rights for his movies Bazooka, and Dominic and the Ladies Purse. While both movies did not technically flop at the box office, they didn’t go great business either, and just managed to emerge as average grossers.

Interestingly, Mammootty’s AI appearance in the crime thriller Rekhachithram earned more clout than his own films. Made on a miniscule budget, the movie became one of the few Malayalam films in early 2025 to earn 50 crores worldwide, before Mohanlal and Naslen Gafoor marked their comeback with Thudarum and Alappuzha Gymkhana respectively.

Mammootty will be next seen in Kalamkaval, a crime thriller starring himself and Vinayakan. The movie is apparently based on the case of the serial killer Mohan Kumar Vivekanand, aka Cyanide Mohan.
